Dave says: I got what I wanted for my birthday. I did get a new carbon fiber Specialized Epic Marathon but that's not what I'm thinking of. I also got a sweet cake from Alisha and inspired by Debbie. Under the white frosting is chocolate and berries. But this isn't it either, nor is the delicious bottle of Simply Orange in the right hand corner that I drank in less than a day. And it definitely wasn't the weather which went from blue skies to rain back to blue skies and finally to snow in the desert.

It actually wasn't such a bad weekend in St. George considering the weather report. I sent Alisha off by herself on the road bike because I had a new mountain bike to ride and unfortunately this was the first time ever when she got 2 flats in a single ride. However, she was undaunted and took care of everything just fine while I was off riding the Jem trail and connecting with my roots.

We even made it out on Saturday morning for about two hours before the rain really started to fall. We went to a matinee of Sherlock Holmes in the rain and when we came out the sun was shining and it was like a completely different day. It was too nice to go back inside so we went and walked around on the red rocks above St. George. Then we went and hung out with Alisha's aunt who fed us a nice dinner and let us watch the Olympics. By Sunday, St. George was experiencing a rare snow storm and it was time to pack it up and head home.

Check out the team website and get some PB to support the team at http://www.teamtwenty12.com/.

Dave says: It was Alisha's lunch day this past week at work so she brought in 10 different flavors of peanut butter for some seriously good PB&Js.

I just got back yesterday from a trip to Tucson. It was great to hang out in a place with temperatures in the mid-70s. My family was in town to see the jem and mineral show and I spent some time hanging out with my old friend Alex.

We are now addicted to the Olympics with tons of great events to watch. Go Team USA!

Tour de St. George

Alisha, Chantel, Tayler, Kirsten, Nisie, Stephanie
Alisha says: The PCIM gals headed south for a weekend of riding. Tayler and I drove down stopping in Cedar for some dinner at my parents house. I was a little worried when there was a lot of snow in Cedar but once we passed the black ridge things were looking great with no snow on the ground.
Chantel, Aaron and Kirsten showed up the next morning and our Tour de St. George started off with a ride to Zion. Nisie, Steph, Dave, and Nikki joined us in time to rock the Gunlock Loop on Saturday. Dave had some ants in his pants and was driving the pace as the rest of us were hanging on for a ride on the Dave train. There was a strong crosswind that made for a tough ride the whole way back into St. George. By Sunday everyone was ready for an easier ride so we kept the ride flat and did the Bloomington Loop. I think that everyone had a good time and that all came back a little fitter!
