Fall Break

Dave says: For fall break we headed up to Cedar City for some biking and family time. On the way up, we went through Pinetop where I got to race the Tour of the White Mountains. I hadn't done the event since I was about 16 and so it was fun to come back after all these years and do it again. The temperatures were perfect for racing and hanging out. We rented a cabin and the kids had a great time. I was 3rd in the 30 mile event and got a carved bear trophy.

From there, we continued northward and made it to Cedar City where it felt like fall. We did some of our favorite Cedar City stuff like hanging out with Alisha's family, playing with cousins, and eating good food. We also tried some new stuff like the dinosaur park in St George. We made it out for some good rides including favorites like Gooseberry Mesa, Little Creek Mesa, and Navajo Lake. At the end of the week, the cold weather moved in and we got a nice taste of that fall Cedar City wind.

Pre Halloween

Alisha says: The kids were really excited when I got out the stuff to decorate for Halloween. They wanted to dress up and play trick-or-treat. I gave them some suckers when they came trick or treating to the pantry door and they thought that was great, even little Jade caught on to the idea really quick. I think they will be pro trick or treaters by the time the 31st rolls around.

20 Months

September

Alisha says:

Dave and I did a mountain bike race called Fire on the Rim. It was held just outside of Payson so we used it as an excuse to get out of town for the weekend. My mom was in town so it worked out perfect to have her come along and watch the girls while we raced. We both had good races where Dave came in 5th overall and I was the top female and 11th overall for the 30 mile distance. We took our race numbers and put them on the kids bikes and scooter and they thought that was really fun.

We've been doing a few bike rides with the kids. It's still been really hot though.

Skye wanted to go for a ride and Jade didn't want to be left out. She said "bike, bike" and went over and pointed to her pack and helmet. It was adorable to Dave tired to take them both.

Dave has been playing his violin a little bit. The girls love to put on a dress and dance around while he plays. Once again, adorable and it melts my heart every time.

Playdate to the Idea Museum with Christine and her boys

I finally gave in and let Dave get his hot tub.

We had a huge rainstorm. It started during the night and rained hard for a couple of hours. There was tons of big puddles all of the washes were running. We let them go out and play in the puddles and they loved it. We went and looked at the wash right outside our neighborhood that was flowing with a lot of water and it was all that Skye talked about for the next couple of days.

We finally got Grandma back for a visit after not seeing her for a couple of months. The girls love her so much. We took her to the jump place and she was a good sport to do all of the things Skye wanted her to like jumb, climb all over and do the slides.

We spent an afternoon at the McCormic Stillman Railroad park in Scottsdale. Skye lover playing with her cousins so much as you can see from these pictures. Rachel is really good and playing with and helping to watch Skye right now.

Jonathan turned 4 and had a birthday party. There was lots of sugar as is evident by this picture. Skye loves parties and can't wait for her own birthday.
