19 Months

Alisha says: This cutie is still my little sweet pea. We have been enjoying some one on one time now that Skye is back in preschool. She likes to climb on things, color, ride carousels and will scream and throw a fit if you take something away from her.

August

August Highlighs:
Skye has big emotions both happy and sad. Here she is making a grumpy face.

Bucket head Jade.

Lots of pool time. Jade is getting pretty good at floating and loves to walk off the shallow areas into the deep over and over and over so even though she can kinda float we still have to always have an eye on her. They both love swimming!

Aquarium visit with friends.

We have been going to toddler time at a jump place near us. It isn't crowded since all of the big kids are in school and they can jump, climb, and play until they are hopefully worn out (I know mom is). They love it!

While Dave was gone to a conference we went to Payson with Christine and her family. We went rock hunting where Jade wanted to carry her own bag and look for rocks while Skye was super clingy and wouldn't leave my side and eventually ended up being the one in the baby carrier.

Jade can actually entertain herself for a little bit and is starting to play pretend a bit which is really cute. She likes to try to ride a bunny stuffed animal and she was having her own tea party.

Carousal rides at the mall after kids club

Crazy kids, but they are cute and I totally love them to pieces.

First Day of Preschool

Alisha says: This year Skye gets to go to preschool 3 days a week. She was a bit nervous when we first went to "meet the teacher" day but when it came time for the actual first day she was excited.

18 Months

Alisha says: A year and a half! I still think of her as a baby but she is really a toddler now. I love this age as she is so cute and I love to see her exploring the world. She is still (most of the time) my little sweet pea (with a side of mischievous). She has started singing some of the nursery rhymes a little bit. The one that she does the best is baby shark and she will chomp her pointer finger and thumb together, it's adorable. She babbles and gibbers all the time and is saying a lot of words. She can say and point to eyes and nose. We were eating dinner at Dave's parents and she walked up to Ivan and very clearly said, "Hi Grandpa". Luckily there were three additional people in the room who also heard it or I might not have believed what I heard. She can say Skye and likes to copy things that her big sister does and thinks she is just as big.

She still gets into all the cupboards and has started getting even more adventurous in her climbing as I've found her all the way on top of the table emptying the salt shaker, the piano, and the bins in front of the tv. She still loves swimming and will walk off the edge over and over so it is a good thing that she knows how to float. She likes to color and play with play dough.

Summer Trip - Part 3: Crested Butte

Dave says: When our time in Park City was finished, we still had one more bike destination to visit. Crested Butte has been on our list for a while but we had never visited. This year, we had some great friends to be our guides and show us around on the best trails. Crested Butte has big mountain views and incredible wild flowers. Unlike the smooth and flowy trails of Park City, every ride felt like a backcountry adventure. Even though we were feeling pretty fit, we were grinding our way up some relentless climbs and then plunging down through some fun techy descents. Somehow Alisha was doing all this while sick with a lingering cough. Highlights included Teocali, Dr Park, and the 401. The bike park was also really good, especially the double black Psycho Rocks.

The kids had a good time in Crested Butte. Camp was right near by and they also had lots of adults to hang out with and entertain them. Every morning they liked to go play in the flowers right next to the condo. We also found surprisingly good food in Crested Butte at pretty much every restaurant we tried. Crested Butte may have crushed our legs but we're already looking forward to our next visit.
